It’s not a
secret celebs like to wear trendy, chic, and elegant dresses created
by the most prominent designers. Yet it is not often that we get to
see them grab a dress right from the runway. One minute a slim model
is gracing the catwalk wrapped in dreamy waves of silk and chiffon,
and next you see a gorgeous voluptuous celebrity rock the same dress
on Red Carpet. The difference is striking and it is often hard to
tell who wore the dress best. That’s why it is so interesting to
see celebs and models rock the same garment side by side. Here are 13
gorgeous dresses celebs took right off the catwalk.
– Thierry Mugler
I’ve got to say
that Kim is a real pro when it comes to wearing body-hugging dresses.
They just look so good on her figure! Same goes for this flirty dress
that was definitely meant for a curvier type of woman.
You’ve got to
give it to Riri – she could pull off of wearing a bathroom curtain
if she wanted to or, in this case, a purple furry coat. I mean, who
in her right mind would even try wearing it? Rihanna would and she
looks pretty darn stylish doing so. The lipstick and the shoes just
make this look so much better.
Rihanna can go
from a bad girl to an elegant princess in a blink of an eye. The
model does look gentler wearing the same outfit as RiRi tends to look
a bit edgy no matter what she wears. Her personality is like that!
Lawrence – Christian Dior
is looking glam as ever wearing a sleek Christian Dior gown and red
colour is perfect for the Red Carpet (duh). I must admit the dress
looks livelier on her than it does on the runway model. Maybe it’s
all about the smile?
Lawrence – Christian Dior
definitely knows a thing or two about style and so does Christian
Dior! True, this dress made Jennifer fall (quite gracefully if I
might add) during her receiving the Oscar, but otherwise it’s a
truly outstanding garment. Looks kind of bland on the model,
especially with that ridiculous head piece.
This bold flowy
dress is a statement piece and you’ve got to show some personality
if you put this on. The model is lost behind the power of this dress,
yet when Rihanna wears it you can feel the empowerment it gives her.
Salma Hayek –
You may or may
not like the style of the dress, but you’ve got to give it to lady
Salma here wearing a seemingly see-through dress like it’s the most
casual attire. The black one definitely looks more stylish,
especially paired with classy red lipstick.
– Ralph & Russo
This is one of
those cases when a dress looks better in real life than it does on
the runway. Seriously, though, it’s a lovely fashion piece that
calls for a special occasion. It should add more volume to the figure
of the woman wearing it, but somehow Penelope still looks fit and
gorgeous even with some extra layers on her hips.
Rita Ora –
If you want a
bizarre, yet stylish outfit – Marc Jacobs is your guy. Rita Ora is
definitely a fan of all things bright and unusual, so her choice of
dress is pretty expected (although it looks like nothing we’ve seen
before, okay). Frankly speaking, the model looks like she ran away
from a circus show, while Rita Ora pulls off this outfit with grace
and elegance, turning this weird look into an edgy outfit.
Lucy Liu –
So many things
could go wrong with a barrel-like skirt like that, yet Lucy Liu looks
beyond cute wearing this outfit. It looks girly, flirty, and somehow
makes her look younger. The skirt is also longer in her variation of
the dress, which looks more sophisticated than the runway look.
Katy Perry –
A dress looking
like a pink mop? Yes, please! Katy Perry is one of the few
celebrities who could wear a ridiculous thing like this and actually
look amazing. It’s a talent as big as her singing prowess!
Jennifer Lopez – Ralph & Russo
A body-hugging dress needs at least some curves to look good. That’s why some dresses look much more stunning when they are off the runway, worn by some less skinny celebrity who feels confident in her own body. Jennifer Lopez looks smart and sleek in this ethnic-themed gown.
