It’s happening, the ‘Friends’ reunion we’ve been hoping for since 2004 is finally happening! All the cast – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and hopefully Matthew Perry- will take a part in a special “Friends” episode honoring legendary TV director James Burrows.
Burrows has been making sitcoms for 40 years, directed 15 episodes of “Friends” in particular, and recently shot his 1000th TV episode. A two-hour special will be shown on NBC on Sunday, February 21. But prepare yourself that it won’t be actually “Friends” reunion as such, instead, Rachel, Monica, Joey and the rest will just pay tribute to James Burrows.
More bad news: Matthew Perry who brilliantly portrayed Chandler Bing, won’t actually join the famous gang on stage for the Burrows tribute . “Regarding Matthew Perry and the James Burrows tribute, Matthew will not be attending, as he is in London in rehearsals for his play The End of Longing, which begins previews on February 2″, announced Perry’s rep Lisa Kasteler. “Matthew may tape something for the tribute”, she added.
Although it’s not the proper reunion “Friends” fans been waiting for, we still want to see all six mates together even if it’s in this hodge-podge format. Friends Forever!
