The “Room” star Jacob Tremblay stole our hearts when he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday. The 9-year-old actor was adorable on every level – from his dance when he entered the set to revealing his goals of becoming a scriptwriter and a director.
You can see his captivating dance moves here.
When DeGeneres asked Tremblay what his favorite subject in school was, he answered: “I like writing stuff, because when I grow up I’m gonna be a scriptwriter and a director.” However, the Vancouver-born child actor refused to share his ideas with the audience. He joked: “I don’t think I should tell you them because I don’t want some Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, J.J. Abrams to come and make millions of dollars off of my ideas.” How cute is that!
The young star also revealed that he was perhaps most excited to meet Leonardo DiCaprio at the SAG Awards. And shared a beautiful story of his acquaintance with “The Revenant” star.
Tremblay told DeGeneres, “It’s kind of a funny story because everyone was standing up to cheer for someone, and I noticed Leonardo DiCaprio right in the chair behind us. So I just walked straight up to him and I noticed a huge line of people trying to meet him, but I was like, ‘Oh, I’m a kid, I can skip it!’” He continued, “So I skipped it and I said hi! And then I said good luck to him, and he then, he said good luck to me. And he won, right? But I didn’t win. So if you want to win, you just have to come up to me.”
Well, now we know what we have to do in order to win an Oscar!
